Magnolia Stamp :: Special moments :: 1st Eucharist

MaggieEucharist~ Hello lovelies! I hope everybody is keeping busy enjoying their spring weather…or fall for our friends down south!

All right! “I feel good” just like James Brown! I am in the mood now to look into my stamped images and future buys from outside of the box. What does that mean? Well, it means give a new meaning to an image that was meant originally for another theme. In my new card I used Magnolia Wedding couple B. I simple cut out little Maggie out of the couple set ( I saved Edwin image for later…ha! Wait and see!) and dressed her up for her First Eucharist! I got my inspiration from my childhood friends. Growing up I had so many friends going thru this very important moment in their life, the 1st Eucharist. To create the look I wanted I made some adaptations to my Maggie. First I cut of the head crown then created a single flower bouquet with a cross (ideas of a little rosary). The flower is prima and the cross are glass bugle and pearl bead.  I added a little sparkle, to give a youth full but kept together for the occasion.

Oh yes, I have to mention that this is the very first time I am showcasing a little creation with my L letter press! I LOVE THIS THING!!! It is so chic…Seriously, when you use the cotton/paper and the de bossed look from the letter press, the card just reach new levels! I am definitely putting this baby more to use.  I just loved the polished background. This tool is a must for serious paper crafter.

My cross is a die cut from the silhouette library (resized and reshaped). I loved the way this cross came out. I first used my copics to bring some dimension then I applied embossing powder just in the cross itself, so the center of my cross  would stand out. On the surrounding swirls, I colored again with copics and played around with some shades and glamour dust…I was looking into bring a very regal and jewel like feel to the motif. One of the things I wanted to do is to add lots of dimension to this card, so it would feel like a little memento from the occasion itself.

So what did I learn? From now on I am getting stamps that can make my imagination fly away with ideas. Magnolia couple B for sure is one of them! How about you? Are you going to give a try into “new ways”?

Come and join us at Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge! This week we are all about dimensions! See you there!

Much luv
